Five things to do without skiing

Forest House — Το χιονισμένο μονοπάτι προς το κατάλυμα

The Pozar hot springs, the Edessa waterfalls, Lake Vegoritida and two walks through the forest.

Not everyone comes to Voras for the slopes, and the area repays them. Five things worth a day, all within driving distance of the village.

Pozar thermal baths, 44 km. Water at 37 degrees inside the Aridaia gorge. They stay open in the snow, and honestly that is when they are best. Go early to avoid the queue.

The Edessa waterfalls, 33 km. The Karanos drops seventy metres inside the park, with a cave behind it you can walk into. Half a day, with a wander around the town.

Lake Vegoritida, 24 km. A quiet drive around the water, and tavernas right beside it. The Panagitsa reservoir is closer still, just 9 km.

The village itself. Stone houses and flagstone lanes at 1,100 metres. It needs no plan — a walk and a meal in a taverna is enough.

Two walks through the forest. They start just outside the settlement. In winter they want waterproof boots and some care on the ice, but they are short and manageable.
